Van, a principal at Insight Risk Management, LLC, joined the firm in 2005 and shortly thereafter earned his CPCU. His extensive background in finance helps clients address their issues using a full spectrum of solutions that include financing risk as well as transferring risk to traditional insurance companies. With his unique background, he has taken a lead role in developing and implementing Insight’s consultative approach to risk management including risk identification, financial modeling, loss control, and mitigation, and insurance program design. Prior to joining Insight, Van started his career as an investment banking analyst. He then worked in private equity in New York, London, and Zurich where he was part of a team investing in insurance-related portfolio companies. Van earned his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
